Babak Broumand, 56, a Californian who spent more than 20 years working for the FBI, received at least $150,000 in bribes in the form of cash and other items.
In return, Broumand gave a dishonest attorney with connections to organized crime crucial FBI information.

Broumand was found guilty of one conspiracy offense, two charges of official bribery, and one count of engaging in financial transactions using property obtained via a specific illegal activity.
He might receive a 45-year maximum sentence in federal prison. This includes five years in federal prison for the conspiracy offense, 15 years for each of the bribery counts, and 10 years for each count of making an illegal financial transaction.
Jury finds that the Tahoe property that Broumand allegedly bought with the bribery proceeds are NOT subject to government forfeiture, a pretty significant win actually, for the defense. Broumand is remanded to custody. Sentencing date: 1/30/23

According to reports, Broumand reportedly hung his head as the guilty decision was being read.
Edgar Sargsyan, a dishonest Beverly Hills lawyer, compensated Broumand with cash, cheques, trips on a private plane, a Ducati motorcycle, hotel stays, escorts, lunches, and other valuables.
According to the Justice Department, Sargsyan sent Broumand $10,000 per month. In January, Broumand will be sentenced.

Since then, Sargsyan has admitted guilt to five federal offenses.
A Clinton donor, gangster, and fictitious attorney are all labels applied to Sargsyan. He was infamously seen in pictures with Gavin Newsom and President Barack Obama.
