Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, just began a new, billboard-heavy advertising campaign in areas that are conservative and anti-abortion. The billboards all aim to promote and defend abortion to red state residents who have little interest in such things, which is predictable. They mostly do this by emphasizing that if their state forbids abortion, women may travel to California to obtain one.
“NEW: Just launched billboards in 7 of the most restrictive anti-abortion states that explain how women can access care–no matter where they live.

To any woman seeking an abortion in these anti-freedom states: CA will defend your right to make decisions about your own health.”
The pro-abortion billboards infuriated conservative Americans, who dubbed them anything from “Satanic” to “abominable.” The Mississippi billboard that Newsom used to promote abortion infuriated many of those who were critical of the billboards, and it received some of the worst remarks.
“‘Good Catholic” @GavinNewsom is now using Bible scriptures to encourage women to come to California to abort their babies. A truly shameful display. Meanwhile, in CA crime continues to skyrocket, the cost of living is out of control, and the state can’t even keep the lights on.”
@tatereeves the people of Mississippi deserve to know they have access to the care you are refusing to provide. This will be launching in your state today. pic.twitter.com/8qg7psYT2j

“ABOMINABLE for a US Governor to quote Holy Scripture to promote MURDER of the most vulnerable in what should be their SAFEST SPACE ~ Mother’s Womb!! Gov Newsom, you are at war w GOD ~ read Proverbs 6:16-17”
In addition, President Joe Biden, another supposedly “good Catholic,” was emphasizing his efforts to promote abortion in conservative areas at the same time that Newsom was doing so. Biden promised on Twitter to codify Roe v. Wade if Democrats win the November elections and seize control of the Senate.
