New York City Council members are expressing their disapproval of the Biden administration and raising concerns about the situation at the southern border, which has now affected their local area, according to a report by Fox News.
During an interview on “Fox & Friends First” last Thursday, Councilwoman Vickie Paladino remarked that the influx of undocumented immigrants in New York is having a negative impact on various aspects. Paladino conveyed to Fox’s Carley Shimkus that New York holds a significant role as “the core” of the nation, but its current state is being undermined.
When discussing the overcrowding situation at the migrant facility established in New York’s Roosevelt Hotel, Paladino remarked that the current state is not sustainable and has spiraled completely out of control.
Paladino’s statements were made just a day after another member of the New York City Council, Robert Holden, strongly criticized Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and the broader Biden administration, accusing them of being neglectful in their duties. He voiced his concerns during an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle” hosted by Laura Ingraham.
Holden elaborated on how city officials in New York have not received a clear strategy from the Biden administration regarding the management of the influx of around 100,000 unverified foreign nationals entering the city.
According to Holden, the city is projected to expend $8 million per day to cope with the rapid increase in undocumented individuals. Simultaneously, Holden conveyed his belief that President Biden is not effectively addressing the situation, stating that he is essentially not fulfilling his responsibilities. Holden added that this lack of action extends to the entire administration.
In response to Laura Ingraham’s mention that Secretary Mayorkas had informed Congress that the administration is effectively managing the border and discrediting claims that the border is open, Holden, a Democratic member, asserted to Ingraham that Secretary Mayorkas is not being truthful.
Holden questioned how Secretary Mayorkas could assert the security of the border when New York City is dealing with approximately 100,000 foreign nationals who have entered without proper vetting, essentially having “walked across” the border.
Holden contended that it doesn’t logically align to declare the border as secure when observing the significant number of undocumented individuals gathered outside the Roosevelt Hotel.
