The Second Amendment’s ability to help individuals defend their homes and family is one of the main reasons it is so highly regarded in the US. Throughout American history, countless homeowners have carried out this identical action with their firearms. Most recently, a Georgian was exonerated of all charges following a house invasion gone horribly wrong for the culprits.
On November 24, shortly after 5 o’clock in the evening, DeKalb, Georgia, police were called to respond to a gunshot wound in the Gresham Park neighborhood of Atlanta. When police arrived, they discovered three victims, aged 23, 18, and 15, who had been shot. They were taken to the hospital by first responders, where one of them passed away. Later, a 30-year-old guy with a gunshot wound also arrived at the hospital.
The shooting reportedly started as an attempted house invasion. The four shooting victims were actually suspects that the homeowner shot as they attempted to break into the house, not actual victims.
According to local news source 11 Alive, authorities stated the shooting appeared to be lawful. The three surviving suspects are now being charged with murder in connection with the killing of their accused co-conspirator. Those responsible for a crime who kill a suspect while doing it may be charged with criminal murder.
