As the baby boomer generation advances in age, America is witnessing the departure of some of its most cherished entertainers. In the year 2023, icons like Tina Turner, Tony Bennett, Raquel Welch, and several others have passed away. Regrettably, another luminary has left us.

On November 19, Peter Spellos succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 69. According to his brother, James Spellos, speaking to Fox News Digital, he feels that his elder brother has found peace after a brief yet intensely painful struggle with the aggressive illness. Peter received a diagnosis in July of this year and underwent chemotherapy, but, unfortunately, the treatment proved unable to preserve his life.

Recognized primarily for his performances in “American Dreams” and “Transformers: Robots in Disguise,” the actor also took on various minor roles over the course of his career. Notably, he appeared in a brief two-episode role on “The Wonder Years” as an unnamed band member. Beyond his contributions to film and television, he gained prominence as a respected voice actor.

Spellos lent his voice to Sky-Byte in the animated “Transformers” series and portrayed a multitude of characters in an extensive array of anime series. Noteworthy roles included being the voice of Dr. Baucus in “Cowboy Bebop,” Mr. Brane in “Black Jack,” and taking on various roles such as Whamon and Meramon in “Digimon: Digital Monsters,” among numerous others.

In addition to his contributions to acting and voiceover, Spellos played a role in molding aspiring actors through his involvement in running an acting school. Jennifer Smith, a former student who also acted as his power of attorney, shared with PEOPLE insights into her mentor.

She mentioned that he passed away in the company of friends and family, and during his battle with the disease, he received heartfelt messages of love from fans worldwide.
