The conflict in Gaza has led to a significant increase in antisemitic incidents worldwide. Additionally, there is heightened apprehension about terrorist attacks following the war. Recently, law enforcement successfully thwarted a terror scheme, resulting in the arrest of multiple individuals spanning several nations.
On December 14, authorities detained seven individuals in the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany, alleging their involvement in a conspiracy to execute terrorist attacks on Jewish institutions throughout Europe. Among them, three were apprehended in Denmark. According to Reuters, these suspects are expected to face charges under the terrorism clause of the criminal code.
In Berlin, three additional suspects were apprehended, and one was taken into custody in the Netherlands. All four of these individuals are reportedly associated with Hamas. The German Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office has officially disclosed the names of these suspects in a statement.

- Mohamed B., an Egyptian national
- Abdelhamid Al A., a Lebanese national
- Ibrahim El-R., also from Lebanon
Prosecutors allege that the four suspected members of Hamas have reportedly been involved in operations abroad. They are said to have connections to the Hamas military leadership in Gaza, including Khalil Hamed Al Kharraz, a commander in the Izz al-Din al-Qassem Brigades, who was recently killed.
Abdelhamid Al A. is said to have been actively searching for an underground stockpile of weapons established in Europe. The intended use of these weapons was reportedly against Jews in Europe, with the plan to transport them to Berlin. In October, he allegedly made multiple trips to Berlin with Mohamed B. and Nazih R. to locate these weapons. Ibrahim El-R. is accused of providing assistance in these endeavors.
German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser emphasized to reporters that safeguarding the well-being of Jews is their foremost priority. She affirmed their commitment to employing all constitutional means against those who pose threats to the lives of Jews and the existence of the state of Israel.
The Danish Intelligence Agency, in a statement to reporters, clarified that the cases in their country are not linked to the situations involving the four suspected Hamas members.
