In order to warn foes who might consider intensifying or expanding the Middle East War, the United States made the unusual decision to publicly announce its show of force in the Suez Canal. Without providing any other details, US Central Command shared a picture of a nuclear-powered submarine cruising the seas.

The Ohio-class submarine is capable of firing both long-range cruise missiles and nuclear ballistic missiles. Although it’s unclear if the submarine in the Suez Canal is armed with nuclear weapons at the moment, opponents should understand the warning America is sending.

In response to the terrorist strike against Israel by Hamas that claimed many lives, the US has sent more than 17,000 military personnel to the Middle East. Recently, the Central Command released a photo of a nuclear-capable B-1 bomber that was operating in the area.

In Iraq and Syria, US service members have been attacked 38 times since Israel declared war on Hamas following the attack on October 7. In Iraq, terrorists targeted American troops sixteen times with drones and rockets. Following twelve more attacks in Syria, the Pentagon responded with a forceful statement.

Prior to this, Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the US was not seeking to intensify the fight. But if it’s needed for defense, he declared, “We won’t hesitate to take the appropriate action.”

In a conversation with Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin assured him that the US supports Israel and its right to self-defense. Additionally, he pledged that the US would assist in discouraging other countries and factions from trying to intensify the conflict. In addition, he talked about organizing the distribution of humanitarian aid and gave advice regarding the safety of civilians.
