Senator Tim Scott, representing South Carolina, withdrew from the 2024 presidential race due to his campaign’s inability to gain momentum despite participating in multiple debates. His announcement to suspend the presidential bid was disclosed while he appeared on the Fox News program hosted by former Representative Trey Gowdy from South Carolina.
“When I go back to Iowa, it will not be as a presidential candidate. I am suspending my campaign. I think the voters, who are the most remarkable people on the planet, have been really clear that they’re telling me: not now. I’m going to recommend that the voters study each candidate and their candidacies and frankly, their past and make a decision for the future of the country. The best way for me to be helpful is to not weigh in on who they should endorse.” Scott stated.
As reported by NBC News, Senator Scott’s campaign, along with a supportive Super PAC, allocated an approximate sum of $25 million for advertising in states such as Iowa and other early primary states. These advertisements aimed to portray him as a hopeful conservative candidate.
Senator Scott’s main focus was on challenging the progressive perspective on racial issues in the United States, presenting the experiences of Black and Hispanic communities as marked by ongoing adversity and limited opportunities for achievement, rather than subscribing to a woke leftist interpretation of race in America.
Scott’s position on racial matters serves as a pivotal element in a distinct approach that sets him apart from other candidates vying for the presidency.
