In an Instagram post, former Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX) said that an illegal alien cartel informant had brutally attacked a Border Patrol agent and shared pictures of the hurt agent who was covered in blood.

Flores, whose husband is a Border Patrol agent, posted the horrific pictures on Instagram. She said that the cartels had hired a guy with the word “rat” tattooed on his forehead to beat up the agent.

“This is the type of violence that is being exerted on Border Patrol Agents by those who don’t want to be apprehended,” the former Texas congresswoman wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

“The suspect was encountered by Border Patrol near McAllen, Texas,” Flores added. “The suspect was labeled a rat by the cartels and fought against the agent until the backup arrived. Please pray for our men and women in uniform.”

The pictures quickly went popular after being shared by Fox News reporter Griff Jenkins in a post on X, which used to be called Twitter. Jenkins wrote in his post that the suspect had to be taken down by three Border Patrol agents.

The Border Patrol agent’s face is covered in blood in one picture, and his outfit, radio, and other gear are also stained with blood. In another picture, the agent looks like he has a puncture cut on his upper arm. In the third picture, the accused cartel spy is also covered in blood, and the word “RATA” is tattooed on his forehead.

Data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) shows that there were nearly 233,000 encounters with illegal aliens at the southern border in August, which is the highest number ever for the month of August. This news comes as the situation at the southern border continues to get worse. Also, this was a big increase from July, when CBP said there were just under 184,000 contacts.

So far this month, there have been tens of thousands more contacts with illegal aliens than in September 2022, and the month isn’t even over yet.

Earlier this month, 10,000 illegal immigrants came into the U.S. in one day, breaking another record set by the Biden administration. However, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to answer questions about this.

As an alternative, she tried to change the subject by criticizing Republicans. However, Fox News White House journalist Peter Doocy cut her off, and she then called on another reporter.
