Lobbyist Pleads Guilty To Funneling Cash To Clinton Campaign

George Nader, a convicted sex offender renowned for his ties to Arab Gulf states, pled guilty to funneling $3.5 million to the Clinton campaign on behalf of the UAE.

According to a recent Department of Justice report, the Lebanese-born billionaire pleaded guilty in July. For his part in the conspiracy, Nader was first indicted in December 2019.

He was suspected of collaborating with Ahmad Khawaja, the CEO of Allied Wallet, a payment processing corporation situated in California, in order to curry favor with Clinton through large donations. Investigators discovered that the donations were made in Khawaja’s name but began with Nader in order to conceal the source of the funds.

The lobbyist also tried to ingratiate himself with Republican contender Donald Trump’s team, presumably to hedge his risks. He boasted in one communication that he was building a stable, consistent, and productive relationship with both groups.

Despite the fact that there is no evidence that Nader contributed money to Trump’s campaign, he is said to have met with top aides on behalf of the crown princes of Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.

Nader could face up to eight years in prison as a result of his guilty plea, however the Justice Department is understood to be seeking a five-year term. Last year, he was sentenced to ten years in prison for flying a 14-year-old boy to the United States for sex and allegations of possessing child pornography.
