With each passing week, evidence supporting the rumors of a close connection between the Justice Department and the Bidens accumulates. According to a new Washington Post report, Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III worked with Hunter Biden’s late brother when the latter served as Attorney General of Delaware.

According to the outlet, Beau Biden partnered with attorney David Weiss during a 2010 fraud prosecution. Their combined efforts led to a successful conviction, and the two released a joint statement at the time. The Post frames the new revelations as part of a set of “deep challenges” Weiss now faces as the attorney helms the investigation into the President’s remaining son.

Two recent IRS whistleblowers are among many who have cast doubt on the lawyer’s capacity to maintain political neutrality in the past and present. Under oath testimony, Special Agents Gary Shapley and Joseph Zeigler accused members of the Department of Justice (DOJ) of exhibiting bias to Hunter Biden, including U.S. Attorney David Weiss.

After a lengthy inquiry, the President’s son was cleared of major allegations of tax evasion and weapons offenses. Lifelong Democrats and FBI agents Shapley and Zeigler claim that David Weiss and Attorney General Merrick Garland steered their investigation of Hunter Biden into a plea agreement of little consequence.

Hunter Biden escaped jail time while facing two minor charges. The agents both said the President’s son was given preferential treatment by Delaware prosecutors. After the presiding judge found that the agreement would give Hunter Biden blanket immunity from future prosecution, they refused to sign off on it.

As a result of public pressure, AG Garland appointed a new inquiry into Hunter Biden’s “sweetheart deal” to be led by an impartial Special Counsel. According to Shapley and Zeigler, Special Counsel David Weiss was among those who originally played down their inquiry into the President’s son.
