Sydney Sweeney, the actress of Euphoria, has come under fire when she and her brother shared pictures from their mother’s surprise 60th birthday party, where partygoers were donning “MAGA-inspired hats” and at least one “blue lives matter” shirt.

Sweeney posts a family photo with her followers in an Instagram carousel, in which one of the men is wearing a blue lives matter shirt. Sweeney started trending on Twitter after prominent gossip website PopBase published pictures of the party. Internet sleuths discovered that partygoers had also been sporting “Make Sixty Great Again.” MAGA caps.

Fans noted that the 24-year-old actress posted the blue lives matter shirt on her public feed even though she isn’t seen wearing anything provocative herself. And while Sweeney refrained from uploading any pictures of herself wearing a red hat, her brother Trent’s Instagram account included them.

Despite Euphoria and White Lotus’s and the general acceptance of their music, Sweeney has noticeably shied away from the spotlight. The twice-nominated actress for an Emmy announced her engagement in March after being seen sporting a diamond ring. But earlier this summer, Sweeney became a Twitter trend after admitting to the Hollywood Reporter that she struggled to pay her expenses despite her fame.
